Principal, Ian Minter, is a trained Project Manager. For large and complex projects, a Project Manager is essential to ensure deadlines are met and the project is successfully delivered.
It is the Project Manager’s job to oversee a project, and communicate the status of the project to the client and relay information between the engineering / architecture / construction firms and other disciplines involved.
Experienced Architects who are also trained Project Managers remain uniquely qualified for this role, having always had to have a sound knowledge of the work of every other consultant, tradesman, and specialist, to be able to direct and coordinate their output, and to liaise regularly with the client and all stakeholders.
When appointed as a Project Manager, an Architect is also able to give early guidance or assistance where necessary with option appraisals, feasibility studies, or other work needed at the outset including the preparation of a formal Brief, and generally helping to get the project set-up.
Our Project Management service will be of particular benefit to clients unfamiliar with the procurement process, or without the in-house time or resources to put to this task.
For clients considering the appointment of a Project Manager but would like to know more, we offer a short presentation about the origins of the role and its value on a construction project.
